NAR – The REALTOR® Party Political Survival Initiative

The National Association of REALTORS® recently unveiled The REALTOR® Party Political Survival Initiative.

In summary, a Supreme Court ruling last year now allows “soft” (or corporate) dollars to be used to fund political advocacy efforts.  As a result, NAR has launched The REALTOR® Party Political Survival Initiative which includes a proposed dedicated dues increase of $40 beginning in 2012.  The dues increase would be used exclusively to fund political and issues advocacy efforts.

It is important to note that a vote on this proposal will take place at the Board of Directors meeting during the NAR Midyear meetings. In preparation for this vote, CAR sent out an online survey on Friday, April 8 to every REALTOR® member in Connecticut. A survey reminder will be emailed on Friday, April 22 only to those members who have not responded to the survey. Your feedback does matter! Please respond to the two question survey no later than Friday, April 29 so that CAR may compile the results and share them with the CT NAR Directors before they head to the NAR Midyear meetings the week of May 9 where they will be voting on this issue.
