Tip |
|
Some banks’ asset managers are
asking listing agents to get repair estimates for their
bank-owned properties and to pay for the
repairs/replacements, promising that when the broker
submits an invoice, the broker will be reimbursed. The
agent should just say “no”. Most of these asset managers
were bill collectors until recently and now are trying
to save the bank’s money, not spend it, but know that
neither the listing real estate broker nor his agent is
required to pay for the owner’s (the bank’s) property
repair and maintenance
expenses.

| TLC's Moving Up
Show |
|
TLC is casting families with
outgoing personalities and unique taste in
design! This year, REALTORS® who help the TLC find
people who are cast in the show receive a $1,000 finder’s fee,
an on screen credit with their name and company, and their
link on the TLC website. Right now they’re looking for buyers and sellers
who are under contract and planning to close and move between
March and July. "Moving Up", a series hosted by Doug Wilson, returns for a
fourth season to follow a chain of homeowners as they go
through the process of putting their personal stamp on their
new home, through renovations or redesign. After the
renovations and redecorating are complete, the old homeowners
will get the rare chance to visit their once beloved homes and
see all of the new changes. Any clients chosen receive payment for their
participation as well as services that will assist them in
moving and the renovation of their new home. They’ll also
receive advice from Doug Wilson, who will offer them the
design expertise he shares with celebrity clients. More info
on the show can be found here. If you or someone you
know would be perfect for the show, contact casting producer
Jodi
Friedman. |

| "April is RPAC Participation Month" Contest
Increases Contributions |
|
Connecticut RPAC sets
higher participation statewide as a goal during the "April Is
RPAC Participation Month" contest. The local Boards are
divided into small, medium, and large categories. The Board
with the highest member participation percentage, January
through April 30th, will win this contest! Winners will be
announced during the July Board of Directors
meeting.
Two weeks into the
contest, here are the standings:
SMALL
1) East Central: 35% 2) Tri-County: 18% 3) Newtown:
16%
MEDIUM
1)
Mid-State: 19.6% 2)
Greenwich: 12% 3) Stamford: 10.4%
LARGE
1) MFCAR: 24% 2) ECAR: 8% 3) Midd-Shore:
3.5%
During the remaining
two weeks of the contest, it’s still anyone’s game! Newtown
or Tri-County can catch East Central by mustering only another
40 REALTORS® to contribute to RPAC. Stamford or Greenwich could collect
another 90 RPAC contributions and get them up to the CAR
office before the April 30th deadline to win. Midd-Shore,
ECAR, and New
Haven have their work cut out for them
in order to catch up with Mid-Fairfield County Association,
who has collected RPAC from over 250 members so far in
2009!
An office by office
approach works well to contact all members and let them know
that we are relying on them to make that $15 Fair Share RPAC
contribution.
Please contact Holly Reed,
CAR’s Political Fundraising Assistant if you have questions or
would like to request more information about
RPAC. |
