Robert is the Executive Vice President of the Connecticut Association of REALTORS®, Inc. As its chief executive officer, he is responsible for overseeing the development and successful implementation of all CAR's programs and services.
 
Accounting

Gina Ballard
Accounting/Office Manager

Gina is responsible for maintaining the financial records for CAR, Gates Scholarship, Issues Advocacy and RPAC and assists staff members with accounting-related projects. She performs the human resources function for the Association, including payroll, record-keeping and benefits administration. Gina also orders supplies, maintains the office equipment, coordinates requests to and from building management, and researches options to replace and/or upgrade equipment, facilities and services.
 
Communications/Technology

Lisa G. Governale
Vice President of Communications & Technology

Lisa is responsible for directing CAR's internal and external communications. She oversees the broadcast email capabilities, Good Neighbor Awards, the Habitat for Humanity project, REALTOR® Hotsheet, web site and message on hold service. Lisa manages all media relations and public relations and is staff contact for the Communications/Technology committee. Lisa oversees the work of CAR's Membership Administrator and both computer systems and ISP consultants. Lisa is also a registered lobbyist on behalf of the Association and is responsible for the Issues Advocacy committee, the REALTORS® at the Capitol and REALTOR® of the Year programs.

Kerri Lopa
Membership and Technology Administrator

Kerri maintains membership records for CAR. She works with all Local Boards and NAR regarding membership data on the National REALTOR® Database System (NRDS). Kerri generates dues billings for Local Boards and maintains labels for all CAR mailings. Kerri assists the Vice President of Communications and Technology, Lisa Governale, with all technology issues, including operation of the Legislative Action Center, broadcast email technology and CAR website issues. Kerri also works directly with CAR's systems consultants and offers on-site technology assistance to CAR staff.

Meredith Olints
Marketing & Communications Specialist

Meredith is responsible for the design and development of a variety of Association publications as well as promotional materials (print and web) for Association programs and events. She works with Lisa Governale, the Vice President of Communications/Technology, to develop strategies and enhance communication, services, public relations and issues advocacy efforts.

David Pendrys

David provides administrative support to the VP of Communications & Technology, Lisa Governale. He compiles the bi-weekly REALTOR® Hotsheet, maintains CAR's message-on-hold service and handles routine press inquiries. He also provides administrative support to the Communications and Issues Advocacy committees.
 
Executive and Member Services

Beth A. Mecteau
Director of Executive and Member Programs

Beth is responsible for managing all Executive Department programs. She oversees coordination of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Association Executive meetings/events. She manages NAR, New England REALTORS® Committee and International related projects/programs along with the annual CAR Leadership Conference. She also oversees Member Service Department programs including education, endorsed products/services and the Gates Scholarship fund/program. She is the staff contact for the Gates Scholarship fund, Association Executives and Candidate Certification Committees as well as CAR Affiliates.

Alison Hudak
Executive Programs Coordinator

Alison works with the Director of Executive and Member Programs to coordinate CAR's Executive Department programs including Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Association Executives meetings/events. She assists with NAR, New England REALTORS® Committee and International related projects/programs as well as the annual CAR Leadership Conference. She also provides support to CAR's Executive Vice President and elected leadership team.

Abby Krist
Member Programs Administrator

Abby is responsible for processing registrations and preparing materials for all of CAR's education programs. She also handles registration for CAR's annual Leadership Conference and biennial CE Day. She assists with the administration of the Gates Scholarship fund/program and is the primary staff contact for member inquiries regarding education and endorsed products/services.

Brett Moody
Member Programs Coordinator

Brett coordinates the Association's education programs including GRI, ABR and Appraisal as well as various other designation/certification/broker pre-licensing courses. She is responsible for the Gates Scholarship program, including the application process and annual fundraising luncheon/auction. She also develops and promotes the Member Benefits Program.
 
Government Affairs

Timothy J. Calnen
Vice President of Government Affairs

As CAR's chief lobbyist, Tim represents REALTOR® interests before the General Assembly and State agencies. He is the chief staff contact for the Legislative/Political Affairs Committee. Tim's responsibilities include staffing the Legislative and Political Fundraising Committees. He is also instrumental in crafting public policy statements in accordance with Association Policy and works to promote a high level of membership involvement in the political process.

Holly W. Reed
RPAC/Government Programs Coordinator

Holly coordinates all CAR political fundraising and political education programs. She provides administrative support to RPAC Trustees, the Political Fundraising Committee and the Federal Political Coordinators. She also writes political fundraising newsletters and maintains communication with Local Associations on political fundraising activities.

Mary-Ann B. Roczynski
Receptionist/Government Affairs Assistant

Mary-Ann manages incoming calls, responds to information requests and processes credit card orders. Mary-Ann also provides administrative support to the Vice President of Government Affairs, Tim Calnen in the managing and supporting of the Legislative/Political Affairs committee. She also supports the Vice President of Government Affairs in preparing and disseminating testimony, issue papers and reports.
 
Legal

Eugene A. Marconi
General Counsel

Attorney Marconi is CAR's General Counsel and oversees the development of the Association's legal programs. He is available to answer member questions and offer advice on a variety of real estate-related topics. Attorney Marconi is the staff contact for the Bylaws, Professional Standards, Risk Reduction and Grievance Committees. Attorney Marconi provides legal support to the Association's Government Affairs' activities.

Judith I. Johannsen
Assistant Counsel

As assistant counsel, Attorney Johannsen monitors, identifies and informs the membership of changes/trends in real estate practices, develops legal education opportunities, answers member questions, and assists general counsel in the areas of Risk Reduction, Professional Standards, Grievance, Fair Housing and Association Bylaws.

Karen Malenfant
Legal Affairs Paralegal

Karen assists with the general management of the Association's Legal Affairs Department. She provides a variety of administrative/office support for the General Counsel and Assistant Counsel as well as relevant committees; she assists in development, promotion, management and implementation of department programs (e.g. Professional Standards, PSCS® designation, Legal Hotline & seminars). She processes professional standards, arbitration & mediation hearings. Karen assists in the publication and dissemination of the electronic magazines: Moral Compass, LandComm and LandLaw. She answers basic member questions via e-mail and telephone regarding forms, Legal Alerts, regulation requests, and Q & As.
