Zappulla is a REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker in Torrington, former President of the Litchfield County Board of REALTORS® and a director for multiple years, he also served on multiple committees at the local level. He is a two time Litchfield County REALTOR of the Year. He has been involved in multiple local charitable activities. He started and is the host of the Litchfield County Board's Legislative Night and also started the Legislative Breakfast which brings in local Mayors and First Selectmen.

He is past Chair of the CAR Grassroots Committee, and a long time member of the Legislative and Political Affairs Committee, as well as a former Chair of the RPAC Trustees. He also attends Realtors at the Capitol.
