
Jones has been actively engaged in Real Estate Brokerage, Appraisal and Consulting for clients along the CT Shoreline for over twenty years. He is a third generation Real Estate Broker who first worked with his mother at Pat Jones Real Estate, was an agent and office manager for Prudential CT Realty and now runs David Jones Real Estate in Guilford, CT. In addition to writing and presenting Continuing Education courses he teaches pre-licensing for agents, brokers and appraisers, is certified to teach NAR's At Home with Diversity, and makes industry related presentations to community groups and organizations. He also composes continuing education and pre-licensing courses and teaches throughout the state for numerous REALTOR® Associations.
Past volunteer positions in the industry include 2007 President of the Midd-Shore Association of REALTORS® and 2009 President of the CT Statewide MLS. Current positions include Region 4 Vice President of the CT Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors, Chair of CAR's Issues Advocacy Committee and a member of the National Association of REALTORS® Land Use, Property Rights and Environment Committee. He has attended 7 NAR midyear conferences, and 4 of the past 5 Annual Conferences. At the national level he also participated in the Train the Trainer events and the Home from Work Conference.
He was on his local board legislative committee and nominating committee. He also is a Past President of his Board, and its MLS, as well as a RPAC Chair, and orientation committee member.
He also is on CAR's Board of Directors and is past Chair of the Issues Advocacy Committee. He serves on the Legislative Committee, and previously on the Communications committee. He also played a role in the development of CAR's business plan. He also attends the Leadership Conference and Political Involvement seminars.
He was nominated for State REALTOR® of the Year in '08, '09 and '10. He is also a past Local REALTORS® of the Year.
He and his wife, Kathleen, are lifelong CT residents now calling Guilford home. He is involved with his local church. Their son, a public school orchestra teacher, took advantage of the first time homebuyer tax credit and owns a three story in New Haven. Their daughter lives in Brooklyn, NYC and is working on her performing arts career. She has contributed her singing to 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" skits.
