Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center Presented with $35,000 Check from William Raveis Real Estate & Home Services

Farmington, CT - On Wednesday, February 1, 2006, William Raveis Real Estate & Home Services and the William Raveis Breast Cancer Research Fund presented a check for $35,000 to the Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Connecticut Health Center. The check was presented after a tour of the center's new colon cancer prevention center and the research lab of Dr. Kevin Claffey, PhD. A lunch reception with Dr. Carolyn Runowicz, the Director of the Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center and President of the American Cancer Society, followed the check presentation.

"The dedication of the Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center towards both finding a cure and treating those currently afflicted with these devastating illnesses is simply inspiring", commented Bill Raveis, Chairman and CEO. "We are honored to be able to help them continue to work towards a cure with this donation", he continued.

William Raveis Real Estate & Home Services got involved in significant fundraising efforts after the company's president, Carolyn Deal, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997. Now cancer free, Deal and the rest of the organization are dedicated to raising funds towards the cure by means of several yearly fundraising events. In 2005 alone, the organization raised over $275,000 through the William Raveis Charitable Fund, Inc., and the William Raveis Breast Cancer Research Fund by means of several regional wine tasting events and an F-1 racetrack event in suburban Boston.

The William Raveis Charitable Fund, Inc., and the William Raveis Breast Cancer Research Fund are private, non-profit organizations administered by William Raveis Real Estate & Home Services to earmark funds for breast cancer research and education in support for those afflicted with this disease. Through the support and devotion of those in the company as well as other dedicated contributors, they hope to impact the progression of a cure for breast cancer.
